Teatro di Lari, home to Sartoria Caronte and recognised by the Region of Tuscany as an artistic residence (RAT), is a 99-seat black-box theatre nestled in the Pisan Hills, dedicated to artistic creation, programming and production, theatre training and engagement with the local community.

At the heart of its activities is the Theatre School of Sartoria Caronte which runs weekly theatre workshops for all ages throughout the year, culminating in public performances during Collinarea Festival every summer.

Alongside its program, the Teatro presents a season of performances and hosts artist residencies, workshops and opportunities for research and discussion, fostering dialogue between artists, students and the public against the unique backdrop of the historic hilltop village of Lari.

Located in the heart of the historic Borgo of Lari in the Pisan Hills, the Teatro is dedicated to artistic creation, education, and community.

Since 1928, it has been an integral part of the vivid village life, evolving over time whilst never losing sight of its commitment to community.

Run by Sartoria Caronte, a theatre company and artistic collective that has made it its open-house venue, which serves as the central theme of its activities. The project is recognised as an artistic residence (RAT) by the Region of Tuscany

Lari is easily accessible thanks to its proximity to Pisa International Airport, Pontedera railway station and the Fi-Pi-Li motorway.
